My head is swimming.

I feel dizzy and a little nauseous.

I am breaking in cold sweats.

I don’t have the flu, swine or otherwise. Nor am I pregnant. Nooooo, I am helping my 15 year old daughter prepare for her first boy/girl party. Well, her first since her Winnie the Pooh theme party when she was 8 and I so didn’t have the same kind of anxiety about that one!

There will be boys. And girls. And music. And swimsuits (it is a pool party). And boys, did I mention them already? Man oh man, I need a distraction!

So, rather than comfort-eating my way through a pint of ice cream, I am going to go wander the blogosphere in search of tidbits of wonderful distraction. And maybe just a little ice cream…

Ok, there are some great educational resources out there. Over at Teacher Space there is a whole slew of tips on linking mainstream education and your special needs child’s education.

Save your Sanity by Being Proactive has a great article on talking to your kids about his or her talents and abilities.

And over at the Croc’s Blog is a wonderful and inspiring story about a boy born prematurely and far surpassing the expectation of his doctors.

Planning on traveling with kids this summer? Then this will be a must read:

And before I forget, rumor has it that there will be some totally rockin’ giveaways going on right here at 5 Minutes For Special Needs in the next few weeks.

And…….a photo contest that can net you a YEAR’S SUPPLY of Ice Cream. So brush off them photography skills, you are going to need them! You may even want to review Melody’s weekly Photographing Children column.

It’s kinda like having your very own photography coach. For free. And Melody, she KNOWS what she’s doing.

Ok, this party isn’t until Saturday night…I am going to need a whole lotta distraction between now and then. Help a momma out? Link your wonderful stuff up for me down there on Mr Linky! Got a giveaway? Got a great resource? Wrote a killer post? Come on…give it up and share with us! You can also email me at [email protected]
