This Just In, Special Exposure Model Search – A Photo Contest [entries closed]

Entries are closed. Three finalists photos will be posted here on Tuesday, September 2 and YOU will vote for the winner.

I was thinking one night…you know, kids in bed I can almost weave coherent thoughts time…and decided there should be a Special Exposure Wednesday model. Our Special Exposure button kid is adorable, but what could possibly be more adorable than featuring one of your special children in that Polaroid-ish frame? Of course, doing so necessitates a Special Exposure Model Search.

Welcome to 5 Minutes for Special Needs first Special Exposure Model Search. The guidelines are simple.

Enter a photo of a child living with special challenges that you think would invoke an "Awwww, how delightful. I should check out this Special Exposure Wednesday thing" emotion from viewers. A camera may or may not be included in your image. The Polaroid-ish frame itself and photo meme name make connections to photography.

Please submit only a photo you have taken and which you have permission to publish. For example, if a child other than or in addition to yours is featured, have parental permission before making it a part of Special Exposure Model Search.

Keep in mind that as the end of summer approaches, we are looking for a photo which would be better suited for the coming fall season to replace our current summer-themed button.

Submit the highest resolution image possible; size is not as important as quality. The photo will be re-sized for use in the blog buttons. A couple of helpful hints: (1) Get close-up. (2) Be aware of the background in your image. A cluttered background can distract from an otherwise amazing photo. Then…

  1. Submit your Special Exposure Model Search photo to the Flickr group. Please enter only one photo per person.
  2. Tag your Flickr photo "Special Exposure Model Search".
  3. Leave your Flickr group photo link in the comments of this post.
  4. Follow each of the three steps above for your photo to be eligible.

Really, follow all three steps. Thanks.

Note: A basic membership to Flickr is free and you must join Flickr to join the group. Also, all of the photo entries are visible only when you join the group.

You may also add your photo in a post on your blog if you choose. If you do, we would appreciate your post including a link back to this contest post.

Entries are accepted beginning today and are open through 11:59pm EST Saturday, August 30.

Three Special Exposure Model photo finalists will be chosen by 5 Minutes for Special Needs team members from all eligible submissions. Sorry fellow team members, your kids are cute, cute, but your photos are not eligible for entry.

The three finalist photos will be posted here on Tuesday, September 2, and you will vote and choose the first Special Exposure Model Search winner. Voting will end 11:59pm EST Sunday, September 7. The winner will be announced here Tuesday, September 9.

The winning photo will be featured on the large and small version of the Special Exposure button. Imagine, your photo brightening blog sidebars and posts throughout bloggyland. The new blog button featuring the winning photo will be added to our “Link to Us” page of button codes along with photo credit for the winning photographer and a link to your blog (if the winner is a blogger).

If you blog, please consider blogging about the contest and linking to this post. If you are looking for code to post the current Special Exposure Wednesday button, you will find it here along with all of our 5M4SN buttons. We love linky love.
