April, as you know, is Autism Awareness Month, and I’ve read two that have just been released. Check them out!
This book is a great addition to the “autism parent’s” bookshelf. It’s kind of like a “What to Expect When You’re Expecting” book for autism.
Susan provides a crisp and practical road map for parents along with links to organizations that provide services and resources. I love the up-beat tone of the book. Susan, like me, is the mother of three sons– her oldest has autism.

How to Be a Sister: A Love Story with a Twist of Autism by Eileen Garvin
A beautifully written memoir about the relationship between the author and her sister with autism. This book was hard for me to read as I worry and wonder about how Matthew and his brothers will get along as they grow into adulthood. But since the relationship between siblings usually outlasts the parent-child relationship, it is a topic worth exploring and Eileen has done it with honesty and humor.
