The Doctors does a whole show on Autism – tomorrow 4/23

April is Autism Awareness Month, and approximately 1 in every 100 children is diagnosed with autism.

On THE DOCTORS airing Friday, April 23, the doctors welcome actress Holly Robinson Peete and her husband, retired NFL quarterback Rodney Peete, who have an autistic son. The Peete’s recount the heartbreaking day their son RJ was diagnosed with autism, a day they call “The Never Day” because their doctor rattled off a list of “He’ll never …” statements that seemed to never end.

What they’ve learned in the nine years since that day is how to break free from the “never.” In addition, the doctors discuss the advantages of early diagnosis and the symptoms of autism that all parents of young children need to know.
