Welcome to Magic Marker Monday! If you haven’t heard about Magic Marker Monday yet, click here and then hurry right back…

By no means an original idea, but a fun one! We made these little guys from a few items found at our local dollar store (glass parmesan cheese shakers and glow sticks) along with a few miscellaneous craft items we had around the house (google eyes, pipe cleaners, craft foam, pom poms and quick-bonding household cement adhesive.)
The really fun part was adding the glow sticks at bedtime…

I’m sure that there are numerous versions of these little guys floating around the internet at the moment, but ours were patterned after a kit offered by Oriental Trading Company.
Hope your kiddos had some artistic fun this week too!

Those are adorable! I bet I can do something like that with clear plastic cups.
Thanks for a great summer project idea. That’s as close as they’ll get to fire flies for a while!
Those are too cute!
I have fond memories of fireflies from Summer vacations in Arkansas as a child. These are adorable. Might just add these to our Summer “project” list.
