Bullying and Special Needs

Last week Grandma visited us. This week we’re visiting Grandma. Things are still going well (hooray for new medicine!) but this will be short and sweet if only because our computer access here is limited, and any minute now five people will be asking me for their breakfast.

I wanted to let you all know that I’m starting a new series on my personal blog about bullying. The jumping off point is here. I would love it if you follow along. I would also love it if you would leave some comments – here or there. Please share:

  • Your own or your child’s experiences with bullying.
  • Questions that you want to have answered.
  • Resources that you have found helpful.
  • Ideas that you are using to help your child.

Bullying is a huge issue with a lot of national attention right now. Children with special needs, especially those with social challenges, are often targeted because of their differences. I have been collecting some ideas to put my own thoughts on the subject into some order but I want this to be an interactive process. Please do share.

Finally, I want to wish you and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving. May it be full of food, fun, family, and a thankful spirit.
