We’ve been on vacation this week. Oh, we didn’t find ourselves at some exotic destination with our bags packed with multiple swim suits and not much else. But, we did have some grand adventures. And we did manage to sneak in some fabulous local and regional locations. But we did it all within a very planned schedule. Each of us knew what was coming next. Even when “next” on the agenda was downtime or movie night or a trip to the store.
We managed to find the only wheelchair accessible treehouse in Ohio.
Even if we didn’t stay in our wheelchair.
We played dress up with Nana.
We read…
And hammered…
We visited conservatories.
And museums.
And the zoo.
We took a trip to The Wilds.
And a riverboat cruise.
And we did it all without getting a hotel. Without an ADHD meltdown. Without worrying about where we would find space to give an enema. We had great conversations. We avoided naps. We bought souvenirs (with our own money, eventually spending ALL of our own money). We drank good coffee. And while we had an explicit agenda, we weren’t constrained by time.
And so far, we’ve had a fabulous vacation.
