As parents, we wear many hats. We are parents, teachers, tutors, cooks, chauffeurs, mediators, health-care advocates—the list goes on. It’s a job that poses many challenges; but it also provides tremendous rewards. The hugs, kisses, and smiles are priceless!

Some days the hustle-and-bustle of our parenting gig and all our other jobs can leave us feeling a bit frazzled. And I’m guessing that lots of us place taking a little time for ourselves way down on our to-do lists.

So today I am posing a challenge to all of you. Take a little time this weekend to do something to recharge your batteries. It doesn’t have to take long, and you don’t even have to leave the house if you don’t want to. Tonight after I get home from class and tuck the kids into bed, I’m going to give myself a manicure and pedicure. I may even have a glass of wine. That might not seem like much, but it’s just the pick-me-up I need after a long week.

Once you’ve done your stress-busting activity for the week, go ahead and post it here in the comments. You might inspire another parent in need of some serious stress-busting!
