Blogs Can Change Lives

I’ve known Janice and Susan from 5 Minutes For Mom for a bit now.

Can I just say that I sincerely love these two?

Cause I do.

And not just because they are my bosses here at 5MFSN.

One of the things I adore most about them is their sincere concern for others. Especially those that are members of the Rugrat Tribe.

Kids of all shapes, sizes, chromosomal counts, and abilities…..of both the special and typical varieties.

And I love them all the more for their new endeavor:

Or maybe I love them the very most because of this:

Janice and Susan understand what it is to be a kid. A kid who is sick a lot. A kid who struggles to do what other kids find so easy to accomplish.

It takes a special person to truly get it. I know. I live this life each and every day. And some of the comments I have received when trying to explain this new normal, proves that not everyone understands.

Or gives a damn.

Parker and I have been recipients of Janice and Susan’s generosity. After becoming the Managing Editor here at 5 Minutes for Special Needs, they discovered that I didn’t have a laptop to work on. I blogged from my desktop in my living room. Which for most is no big deal.

But Parker is hooked up to so many tubes, wires and machines. Of the life-saving variety. Because of this I have to be next to Parker. Always. Especially if he is hooked up to his vent. There are lots of kids who are trached and on vents who die each year.

Blogging where Parker wasn’t just couldn’t happen. Especially at night when he is on his vent. Or during the day when he was on his trach mask.

So, Susan and Janice set out to get me and Parker and another family in need, a new HP laptop.

Can a laptop change a life? Absolutely. Can it make your spirit soar? Uh-huh. Has it made a difference in our lives. Without a doubt.

Now it is YOUR turn to make a difference. Do you know a child or teenager who is battling serious or life threatening illness who could really use the gift of a PlayStation Portable system but, due to financial limitations, their family cannot afford one?

If so, you can nominate them. HERE. And while you are there, grab a button for your own blog to help spread the word.

It’ll make your heart soar.

Tammy and Parker also hang out at their other blog: Praying For Parker
