Happy New Year’s Eve

It’s new year’s eve and most everybody is getting ready. Some people are going to party. Some people are going to light up the sky with firecrackers. Some people are going to celebrate quietly. While we may all differ in how we welcome the new year, I think it’s safe to say that most of us will make “resolutions”. A new year is the perfect time to start a new endeavor, change something or simply make it better.

While I don’t particularly believe in waiting for the new year to make some changes, I do make it a point to write my dreams and translate them into goals for the new year. I have learned that it’s good for me to put down what I want accomplished and how I plan to do it. I’ve seen that when I take the time to do this, my decisions and actions, for the most part, are determined by my goals. There’s more purpose and less floundering around.

One of the changes I want is to simplify my life. I long for the days when everything was less complicated and easy. I know, it’s impossible to go back to that time. I doubt if it even existed. However, I can look at my life and implement some changes to make it resemble something like that. At the very least, our lives will be less chaotic than it is now. I have nothing to lose by trying and hey, I just might be able to do it.

How about you? What are your goals/plans/hopes for this new year? Whatever they are, from our family to yours, Happy New Year!
