She had four different OT’s during the first four years of life and they focused on self-care skills like teaching her to put on her shoes, do up her zippers, feed herself and use the toilet….

She has an undiagnosed congenital (she was…

How do you deal with stress? It’s obvious that most parents of kids with special needs deal with more stress than the average parent. But how you deal with it can make all the difference in the world. Internalizing it? BAD. Finding a healthy way to release it? GOOD. How do I deal with stress?…

When I was pregnant with Precious, my third child, I was enormous really early. I couldn’t feel the baby move much and my abdomen was rather tight. I was getting an unusual amount of Braxton-Hicks contractions. I was being seen by the midwives for the second time, after having a very pleasant experience giving birth…

This was originally posted on my blog but I wanted to share it here. I am interested to see how many of you has experienced something similar to this. I am hoping not too many, but sadly, it’s more likely that you have encountered this in one form or another. A few weeks back, my…

Today is a snow day. I remember snow days fondly as days when the world was wide open. It was a free day to catch up and do whatever my childish heart desired; reading, sledding, throwing snowballs endlessly which would, for me, end up in freezing fingers needing swirls of mildly warm water to run…
