One of the most rewarding things a parent can experience is watching their special needs child interact with unaffected peers. And no matter how many times I have witnessed this interaction, I always seem to experience the same emotional cycle of anticipation, anxiety and then pride. Last weekend was no exception.

I’m on facebook a lot…so much it’s an addiction, I think. But there are people that I connect with on there that I wouldn’t necessarily be able to otherwise. I have over 200 friends (and I actually know these people <surprisingly>). But I find that there are people that post Negative thoughts a lot, I…

We’re back at my dear mother-in-law’s house for another week, awaiting the results of her evaluation from a wonderful program that is helping us get a handle on what is affecting her. Things are going much better than our last visit, but still challenging. I spent most of the day yesterday cleaning out her pantry….

My husband was not thrilled to become a special needs dad. As a matter of fact, the day Jack was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, I almost killed him. We left the doctor’s office, (I) numbly walked to the car…I asked him what he thought? He looked right at me, and said, “We’ll talk later. I’m…

We all recite these wedding vows, but rarely do we get a chance to actually live them out. On this special wedding anniversary, I reflect on that day 25 years ago when I committed my life to my one true love!

I’ve been MIA due to a viral infection. Thankfully, not my kids or me. This time, it was Dell, my darling laptop! Timing is NEVER good for this sort of thing. I was in the process of redesigning The Boys’ discreet trial curriculum, writing out my blue-sky-scenario for our encore performance of kindergarten and investigating the pros…
